Production Manager
Job Description
Adept Resourcing are working exclusively with a Doncaster based SME manufacturing business who are looking to add to their leadership team within the production department.
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Production Manager is an integral role within the business and requires someone who can lead and provide direction to the shop floor.
This role involves managing the complete day to day activity of production and all aspects associated with the department. This is a hands-on role that requires a great deal of flexibility and person-management skills and the occupier must have the ability to delegate, control and coordinate all production activities.
The Production Manager is the key point of contact for senior management and customers and will have the ability to communicate across all levels.
They are responsible for the creation and implementation of the 10-day plan as well as organising the staffing required to fulfil the plan, they have overall responsibility for the entirety of production.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsibility for all QHSE on the shop floor and documentation
- Overall supervisory responsibility for all production operatives, supervisors, and team leaders
- Responsible for Risk Assessments, COSHH and SOP’s with Shift Production Manager
- Overall responsibility for full production process flow, WIP and output, including quality documentation
- Control and manage production meetings, noting & implementing actions and follow ups
- Shop floor targets distribution, monitoring and reporting
- Create, manage, and amend the 10-day plan from the Production Plan, liaising with customers to advise of initial delivery dates or any changes to schedules.
- Liaise frequently with Production Shift Supervisor and Logs & Warehouse Manager to update on order status to achieve delivery plan. Issuing the daily achievable hang sheet to Logs manager to work from.
- Full responsibility for the customer care and complaints process including liaising with affected customers and ensuring solutions are given in a timely and cost-efficient manner, followed by preventative action to comply with ISO9001.
- Implementing Environmental and Health & Safety Policy, with awareness of your responsibilities for self and any person(s) who may be affected by your / staff acts or omissions
- Create, implement & maintain shop floor standard operating procedures
- Maintain shop floor skills matrix and all shop floor training records with Production Shift Manager
- Liaise with Team Leaders and Logs/Warehouse Manager to achieve the 10-day plan

- Strong people-manager
