Adept are delighted to be working with a leading casting manufacturer based in Rotherham, currently seeking a skilled Finishing Operative to join their dynamic team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who have a strong background in foundry work.
Job Responsibilities
- Upgrading castings in both Non-Ferrous and Ferrous alloys, ensuring they meet specified requirements.
- Working with precision to achieve tight tolerances and strictly adhering to quality procedures.
- Removing ceramic mold material from castings.
- Utilising hand tools such as grinders, burrs, and abrasive belts to eliminate metal running, feeding, and gating systems.
- Preparing castings for the welding process to ensure readiness.
- Dressing castings to meet drawing tolerance and profile specifications.
- Proficiently using measurement tools such as verniers, calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
- Undertaking additional responsibilities as necessary, beyond those listed above.
Skills + Experience
- Proven experience as a Finishing Operative or in a similar role within the casting industry.
- Experience using measurement tools such as Caliper, Micrometers, Verniers and Gauges
- Experience using Hand Tools such as grinders, burrs, and abrasive belts
