I am currently representing a leading global manufacturer of permanent magnets and precision metals. Due to expansion, they are looking for a BOM Engineer to predominantly set up and control the BOMs and routings associated with Manufacturing in additon to the day to day duties.

In addition to the above, duties include:

• Gather technical data from the Engineering and Sales team to create Bills of Materials for all assemblies and sub-assemblies
• Amend and manage any updates to Bills of Materials & routings from all departments. (Eg comment addition/removal). Anything significant to go through ECR for amendment
• Control ECN process
• Arrange contract review of new projects seeing the process through to manufacture ensuring products and tooling are delivered in time for manufacturing
• Liaise with customers as needed to resolve technical /Quality issues on new products
• To outline/update build sequences for all Bills of Materials & routings
• Raise new part numbers as and when required
• Responsible for processing ECR requests through to completion
• Analysing and updating routings and costings when new products have been sent to the customer
• Assist in Lean objectives to improve process flow
• Liaise with Planning to ensure product meet agreed delivery dates highlight shortfalls and take remedial actions
• Update SOPs in line with routings
